The TorahScope project aims to provide a new path for Jews to engage personally and collectively with the Jewish Tradition, with the ongoing evolution of Jewish Communal Life, and with the deepest issues facing the Jewish people today.
TorahScopes are also an incredible personal spiritual healing tool that can be called on and applied in an endless lifetime meditation that constantly refines in outlook, and can be worked at every level from the most casual meditation to the deepest levels of personal therapeutic introspection.

Personal TorahScopes at the Aliyah Level
The Parasha and Aliyah that correspond to the Day you were born hold the greater Karmic themes of your life and of your place within the Jewish People. Simple on some levels, complex in others, the material never gets old or out of date. Every day, every year, every moment brings a new lens and framework through which to re-examine the text to find new ways of thinking and feeling into the realities of our lives.

Personal TorahScopes at the Letter Level
Full TorahScope de-codings add to the Aliyah level several deeper personal and Jewish refinements. The Verse of Torah specific to one's moment of birth identifies THE major karmic theme on both personal and Jewish levels that one is responsible for healing in one's lifetime. The Word of Torah gives the "keystone" to transforming this karmic theme. The Letter or letters of Torah (there can be two) provide the key strengths or attributes one is given to aid in this work.

Torah is the great Ancestral Force of the Jewish People, the purpose and progenitor of Jewish Civilization, and when Jews are able to work constructively together, the force of Jewish unification. Therefore, anything and everything under the Sun can be examined through the lens of Torah. Because of this, interpretations and commentary on the path of Torah in the World can be overly expansive and hard to pin down into actual working approaches in real life circumstances. TorahScopes provide a way to focus the discussion and rally positive examinations and explorations of every day realities for the World we are living in.

Torah Skills
One of THE most overlooked aspects of Jewish communal life and of Jewish Indigeneity today, especially amongst "progressive" and more secular minded Jews, are basic working Torah Skills. We're talking about hands on, how to handle the Torah Scroll; how to take care of a Sefer Torah; HOW TO READ A PASSAGE of TORAH; how to recite the Torah Blessings and how to do it in a way that actually CALLS people to prayer! Oy. It's so important that Jewishly we recover this space for the average Jew, without which people are distanced from their ancestral Tradition and relegated as adults to the space of "children" unable to navigate on their own and reliant on (often) paid Jewish professionals to hold the basic space of Jewish spiritual life for them.

13 Attributes Mussar
Torah as the Spiritual Autobiography of the Jewish People works because as the Jewish Sages say "Every moment of Torah applies to every moment of Life." The key is to apply a lens of authentic spiritual healing, as can be found through 13 Attributes Mussar, where the center is always TRUTH. Actual truth, which is neutral, without agenda, and surrounded by an ever present container of forgiveness and compassion. This does not make such a perspective "weak" or unable to apply strength and firmness when necessary. It means that in all moments, our choices are informed through a 13 Attribute lens.
